Powerhouse International Limited is a Nigerian registered Infrastructure Consulting Company delivering exceptional value to clients and partners. Originally set up to pursue utilities revenue collection and management opportunities in Nigeria in 2001, Powerhouse has uniquely repositioned itself in the market as the one of the foremost indigenous competitive firm providing a range of specialized services in infrastructure development.

Over the years, we have successfully undertaken various projects that reflect our strong hold in the infrastructure spectrum ranging from Electricity, Railway, Marine, Road concessions, information technology etc. We serve as one stop-centre to infrastructure related services. With our strong understanding of conceptualizing planning, designing, execution & management of projects, we provide a range of advisory and execution services for Power generation, transportation and institution infrastructure, road concessions, ICT networks, Maritime infrastructure, pipeline networks etc.

Powerhouse helps corporate energy managers fill gaps in their in-house capabilities or expertise. These clients, many of whom are responsible for multiple facilities nationwide, choose from Powerhouse’s menu of supply procurement, contract management and consulting services. These clients draw heavily on Powerhouse’s broad range of utility knowledge and Powerhouse’s experience with resolving local transaction challenges.

Powerhouse’s utility and industrial clients also take advantage of Powerhouse’s regulatory expertise. Here again Powerhouse offers a menu of capabilities from which our clients select according to their needs. The areas of competence of Powerhouse in Electricity Sector include Generation; Distribution and Transmission.

Powerhouse has rendered various transaction advisory services in the electricity generation sector. Powerhouse acted for KDI Energy Resources Consortium and Dozzy Integrated Power Consortium respectively as transaction advisor and successfully advised both Consortia from the EOI stage to the attainment of Preferred Bidders’ status for 380 Megawatts Egbema Generation Company Limited and 250 Megawatts Gbarain Generation Company Limited respectively while advancing to financial close and post-acquisition process.

Powerhouse in strategic Partnership with Pro Energy is working on the deployment of Embedded Generation Plants in various parts of Nigeria and also undertaking of the operation and Maintenance of the Power Plants. Powerhouse partnered with Chrome Energy using Interstate Electrics Limited as project vehicle to acquire Enugu Electricity Distribution Plc under the privatization of the electricity sector of Nigeria by the Federal Government. The Company is in strategic alliance with Metropolitan Electricity of Thailand (MEA) to render various technical services to Electricity Distribution in Nigeria.

In the Areas of electricity transmission project, Powerhouse is working with Fuji Tusco of Japan and Power Engineers Inc to pursue projects with Transmission Company of Nigeria ranging from grid planning, EPC construction for substation and lines etc. In Maritime, Powerhouse is the transaction Advisor to Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited on the construction of SBM/CBM project in Lekki Free Zone, Lagos.

In road transportation, Powerhouse partnered with Dantata & Sawoe and Blue Atlantic Limited for various road concessions projects in Nigeria and actually won the Concession for Abuja Kaduna and Zaria Kaduna highways in 2007 which could not go ahead because of change in government.

Since Powerhouse's beginning in 2001, Kester has been responsible for developing and implementing scores of competitive energy strategies for industrial energy-user clients. Kester has applied his consulting credential to the electric power industry. His combination of regulatory savvy, quantitative analytical skills, and contract negotiating experience provided the foundation for Powerhouse's current market niche.

Kester obtained the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1989 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990. He has over the years established a reputation as a very thorough and seasoned manager. Kester serve on Board of flourishing companies including; Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc, Union Allied Engineering Limited, Biowish-West Africa Limited, Trans West Africa Electrics Limited, Virtual Technologies Limited,Easypay Africa Limited, Inkas Environmental Protections Limited etc.

DANIEL LARYEA

Dr Kingsford Daniel Laryea holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering B.Sc., (Hons), University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana (1979), Master of Science Degree in Architecture (Environmental Design and Engineering) M.Sc. (Arch) University of London (1992). He is a Chartered Engineer , member Council of Engineering Institutions of UK, Member of Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (UK) . He is a Member of Ghana Institution of Engineers. Dr Larea has provided services in Power supply and distribution in industrial premises and petrochemical industries including but not limited to High Voltage (11KV) transmission systems; Low Voltage (415/240V) distribution systems; Lighting, power supply and distribution systems; Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems; Standby Power Supply Systems; Fire Suppression Systems; Fire alarm/warning systems; Sound reinforcement systems; Voice and Data Networking Systems; Plant and equipment valuation etc.
He was a Partner at Unique Josap Engineering Ltd and Multigroup Consultants. He served as a Senior Electrical Designer Engineer with R.W Gregory & Partners, Consulting Engineers, London, Project Electrical Engineer responsible to the Principal Consultant in charge of the electrical section of Ebilah-Salmon & Partners, Consulting Engineers Lagos, Enugu and Owerri, Nigeria. He acted as the Electrical Design Engineer for R.W. Gregory & Partners, Consulting Engineers London, England and was a Teaching Assistant, Faculty of Engineering, university of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. Dr Larea has held several positions such as Resource person for Ghana Institution of Engineers; Resource person for Architects Registration Council ; Chairman, Electrical Division, Ghana Institution of Engineers; Part-time Lecturer, Post-graduate course in Building Services Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.

Dr. Samnieng Muangnil, Thai citizen was born in July 1949 at Kanchanaburi, Thailand. He joined diplomatic service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Thailand on 1stFebruary 1984 and later served in the following capacities, positions and responsibilities:Attache, Translation Division, Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs, MFA; Second Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, Australia; First Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy, Canberra, Australia; First Secretary, Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria, South Africa; Counsellor, Department of International Organization, MFA. Minister-Counsellor and Chief of Mission, Outpost of the Royal Thai Embassy, Pretoria, in Antananarivo, Republic of Madagascar, from June 2004 – October 2006 (Currently Royal Thai Consulate-General, Antananarivo). Retired from diplomatic service on 1 June 2007

HARRISON NWANI

Nwani is the Vice President of Powerhouse International Limited.He has several years of experience in utility management and operations, energy sector restructuring and reform, energy policy, and regulation. He was part of the Federal Government team working as one of the local advisors of CPCS team (Benchmac & Ince) in the unbundling of the Nigeria Electricity utility and its privatisation thereof. He was a co-team leader (legal & Regulatory) that advised Interstate Electrics Consortium on the acquisition of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc. He was the team leader that advised KDI Energy Resources Limited and Dozzy Integrated Power Consortium on the acquisition of Gbarain Generation Company Limited and Egbema Generation Company Limited respectively being sold by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the National Integrated Power Program.
Mr. Nwani has just being recently nominated as part of the Power Think Tank to come up with an industry road map on how to solve industry wide issues identified during the interim market regime of the Nigeria Electricity Market. He has written various articles on Energy utility in Nigerian Businessday Newspaper. Nwani is responsible for Powerhouse business development and day to day operations of the Company. He graduated with Upper Credits from Ebonyi State University and Nigeria Law School respectively.
